he PS: Medium uses two 6kW inverters to provide 12 kW of continuous AC power, or around 50 amps. It forms the starting point for the system design.

This makes it well suited to many family homes, particularly where some higher-powered appliances may be running at the same time.

For example, electric cooking, a busy kitchen, hairdryers, pumps or a second kitchen in a minor dwelling can quickly increase the amount of power being used at any one time.

When we design your system, we look at the combined AC load you’re likely to have running at the same time, not simply how many appliances you own.

That helps us work out whether the PS: Medium is the right starting point for you, or whether another configuration would suit you better.

he base PS: Medium has 12.8 kWh of usable battery storage, made up of four 3.2 kWh battery modules.

How much battery storage you need depends on how much power you use over 24 hours and, importantly, when you use it. We’ll work this out with you as part of your Load Evaluation.

This will tell us whether the four batteries included in the PS: Medium Base System are right for your needs, or whether you need more (or less)

he PS: Medium starts with 14 × 430W solar panels, providing approximately 6kW of solar capacity. Fourteen panels is the minimum configuration.

Depending on your winter power use, local sunshine and panel orientation, we may recommend additional panels to make sure your system can generate enough power during the lower-sunshine months.

The PS: Medium System can accommodate up to 28 × 430W solar panels, providing approximately 12 kW of solar capacity, so there’s plenty of room for expansion if your power consumption increases later.

1. What’s included in the starting price?

The starting price includes the complete PS: Medium base system, including the inverters, four batteries, 14 solar panels, mounting equipment, electrical protection and our pre-assembled and tested equipment cabinets.

Freight, generator and installation are additional because these need to be calculated for your particular situation.

2. How much does installation cost?

We can provide an estimated installation cost based on your system and location. This is confirmed following a Technical Site Visit, when our installer checks the property, cable routes, equipment locations and proposed solar array.

The PS: Medium base system gives us a good starting point for estimating installation costs, but every site is different.

3. Do I need a backup generator?

Yes, we recommend an approved auto-start generator as part of a reliable off-grid system due to New Zealand’s latitude and unique climate. It provides backup during consecutive dark winter days and automatically starts when required.

4. What support do I get after installation?

You have ongoing support from Power Station after your system is installed, including system monitoring and assistance if something isn’t working as expected. We also manage the product warranties associated with your Power Station system.
