About the PS: Mega+ Quad System

About the PS: Mega Quad System

1. What Can the PS: Mega Quad Run at the Same Time?

W

ith four 6 kW inverters, the PS: Mega+ Quad base system delivers 24 kW of continuous AC power, equivalent to approximately 100 Amps. That’s considerably more than the 63 Amp supply commonly found in single-phase grid-connected homes.

This makes it suitable for large, all-electric homes with substantial power requirements. It may also suit some single-phase commercial applications.

Even with 100 Amps available, it’s important to consider which appliances and equipment might be running at the same time.

When we speak, we’ll assess your power requirements and establish whether the PS: Mega+ Quad system is the right configuration for you, or whether a smaller system would be more appropriate.

2. How Much Battery Storage Does the PS: Mega Include?

T

he PS: Mega+ Quad offers a substantial increase in battery storage capacity compared with our double-inverter systems.

The base system includes eight battery modules, providing 25.6 kWh of usable storage. It can accommodate up to 18 modules, increasing total usable capacity to 57.6 kWh.

You may not need that much battery storage. Once we’ve spoken with you and completed your Load Evaluation together, we’ll have a good indication of the battery capacity needed to meet your estimated electricity use during the winter months.

We’ll recommend a configuration that suits your requirements, with room to expand if your power needs increase in the future.

3. What’s the Minimum Number of Solar Panels?

T

he PS: Mega+ Quad starts with 28 × 430 W solar panels, providing approximately 12 kW of solar capacity. This can be doubled to approximately 24 kW of solar capacity with 56 x 430 W solar panels.

That’s a significant amount of generation compared to the ‘average’ off-grid solar home.

We’ll assess your winter electricity consumption, local sunshine conditions and panel orientation to determine whether this configuration can generate enough power during the lower-sunshine months.

4. Frequently Asked Questions

1. What’s included in the starting price?

The starting price includes the complete PS: Mega+ Quad system, including the inverters, eight batteries, 28 solar panels, mounting equipment and DC cabling. It’s all pre-assembled and engineer-tested in our Auckland factory.

Freight, generator and installation are additional because these need to be calculated for your particular situation.

2. How much does installation cost?

We can provide an estimated installation cost based on your system and location. This is confirmed following a Technical Site Visit, when our installer checks the property, cable routes, equipment locations and proposed solar array.

The PS: Mega+ Quad system gives us a good starting point for estimating installation costs, but every site is different.

3. Do I need a backup generator?

Yes, we recommend an approved auto-start generator as part of a reliable off-grid system due to New Zealand’s latitude and unique climate. It provides backup during consecutive dark winter days and automatically starts when required.

4. What support do I get after installation?

You have ongoing support from Power Station after your system is installed, including system monitoring and assistance if something isn’t working as expected. We also manage the product warranties associated with your Power Station system.
